Breadboards
These rare breadboards–also sometimes called cheeseboards (although they have nothing to do with cheese)–were used throughout Germany and other parts of Europe by housewives to carry their raw bread loaves and rolls to the local baker for baking because he already had his ovens hot to bake his own goods for sale. To keep track of everyone's boards, they were sometimes painted with names, dates and beautiful designs and often became an heirloom that was handed down from generation to generation. Now they just look wonderful in a kitchen or for serving hor d'ouevers or antipasto to family and friends.
Please Note We currently have about 150 breadboards of various sizes and styles in stock and are trying as quickly as possible to take pictures of them so that we can list them here on our website. Stay tuned; more coming soon.
